Dear Colleagues,
The IAMSE Manuals series was established to rapidly disseminate the latest developments and best evidence-based practices in healthcare education. It serves as a resource for those teaching in healthcare by providing the most current information to succeed in their educational roles. The Manuals offer "how-to-guides" on a variety of relevant topics aimed at enhancing educational activities across the spectrum, including teaching, assessment, mentoring, advising, coaching, curriculum development, leadership and administration, and scholarship in healthcare education. Our goal is to spark greater interest in health professions education.
The IAMSE Manuals Editorial Board, responsible for the selection and development of future IAMSE Manuals, is comprised of the Editor-in-Chief and 5 Associate Editors. We are currently inviting applications for an Associate Editor position. We are seeking to expand our global reach and invite candidates from diverse disciplinary backgrounds to contribute to this initiative. Interested individuals are encouraged to submit at least one letter of recommendation (up to three will be considered), a current curriculum vitae, and a brief statement of interest that showcases the skills and attributes described below:
- History of Published Work: Demonstrates credibility and experience in the field.
- Reviewer Experience: Shows critical thinking and the ability to provide constructive feedback.
- Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy and consistency in publications.
- Leadership Qualities: Essential for guiding a team of authors and managing the editorial process.
- Understanding of Trends: Informs editorial decisions with insights from past publications and current market trends.
The statement should be no more than 1-2 pages in length. Applicants must be members of IAMSE in good standing to qualify for a role on the editorial board. Strong applicants will be interviewed by the Manuals search committee, and those selected will be appointed by the Manuals Editor-in-Chief. You can submit your applications here.
