Alice Akunyili, MD, serves as Assistant Dean of Foundational Educator Development and Associate Professor of Basic Sciences at Roseman University College of Medicine. She previously served as Assistant Dean of Academic Affairs at Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine. Having helped develop faculty programs and curricula at two inaugural medical schools, she brings experience across both allopathic and osteopathic medical education. Her perspective emphasizes the role faculty can play in building their own communities of support, strengthening relationships, and shaping a culture that sustains both personal well-being and professional growth. In this session, she will explore practical ways educators can cultivate connection, support one another, and invest in themselves while advancing medical education, alongside institutional practices that enable these efforts.
